Welcome to Stitch ‘n Sew. The bricks and mortar shop is located in beautiful Golden Bay, in the top left of the South Island, New Zealand. There is only so much in our online shop with much more in store, so when you’re in the area, pop in and check out all the treasures we have in store or simply browse through our online shop. We specialise in good quality products that will make your stitching project a piece of art. We don’t have everything, but we do have more than just the basics for all sewing and stitching passions.
About Anita
My Shop, My Passion, My Dream.
I have been stitching since for as long as I can remember, from making barbie clothes for my dolls, to working on tapestries that gradually got more detailed and increased in size, moving onto cross stitch, knitting, crochet and all manner of handcrafts through my teenage years. With the advent of a family, this decreased somewhat but I always had some form of handcraft to pick up. As my children have grown older and I have more time, I now always have something on the needles, a cross stitch project waiting for me and many other u.f.o’s I promise myself I will complete before I start something new.
I love the fine detail of a handworked article and enjoy working with linen. Last year I learnt to spin and made a looped scarf for my daughter. I have plans to learn to weave, I just need to find some more time and possibly finish off some u.f.o’s first. I enjoy helping people with their handcraft projects and seeing what they produce. Everyone is so different and we all enjoy and like different things and that is what makes a handcrafted project unique and personalised. I would love to see your completed project.
